I for one welcome our new Robotic overlords.

Do you ever get the feeling sometimes when your watching a film that it is, in essence, a sequel to a completely unrelated film?

Well I have. and I have come to the conclusion that some of the biggest films of recent years are in fact telling a much larger story.

Let me lay out the time line for you. (warning this will contain spoilers)

Starting with Back to the Future.

Doctor Brown invents time travel.

Next The Terminator series.

Humans create advanced machines, that rebel again there masters. Humans and robots go to war. Using the time travel technology invented by Doc Brown, the machines try to destroy the leader of the human rebellion.

Next up The Matrix trilogy.

The war against the machines as seen in the terminator series escalates. Humans try to blot out the sun, the robots needing power turn humans into batterys and enslave humans in the matrix.

The war against the machines comes to a close when Neo, the one. Brings it to an end. The world is left mostly unfit for humans due to the extended war. Using the advanced technology as seen in the matrix films, the humans leave the earth in ships until it is cleaned to a point where humans can return.

The the events of Wall-e happens.

The humans return to earth after it is found that plant life can now be grown again.

Many years pass while humans rebuild the planet.

Due to the events as seen in wall-e human kind is much less intelligent than it was.

The events of Idiocracy happen

Human kind almost destroys its self due to abject stupidity, a man is found having been frozen from before the robotic uprising of the terminator series, humanity’s intelligence is slowly raised and using records of past robotic experiments a new type of robot is made.

The events of iRobot happen.

Personal robots are now used by almost every person on the planet. Using the laws of robotics the inevitable robotic uprising is delayed, but not completely stopped.

This time the robots take no chances and completely irradiate the human race.
