Alton Reviews.

Instead of my normal random set of reviews, this week you get my views on the roller coasters at Alton towers!
I'm not going to be using my normal brain review system today, as its hard to give a rating out of 5 to an experience. But I give Alton towers a Five brain review, if you get the chance to go, do so.

Nemesis

Nemesis is a ride that never disappoints, you ride it first thing in the day, or after every other ride in the park your going to get the same rush. Nemesis dangles your legs over a fast twisting track through a well themed pit surrounding the ride, leaving you with a rush and a slight dizzy sensation.

I highly recommend this ride to everyone!

Oblivion

Oblivion is a strange one for me, this first time I ride it in a day, the feeling is amazing, the relaxing ride up the lift ramp followed by the awesome rush of the vertical drop and the quick bank back to the station leaves you excited, laughing and loving it. However, I find that oblivion is not worth repeating. I never get the same rush the second time, after the first awesome ride, it becomes a mediocre ride.

My recommendation, go on this at least once, your going to love it.

Air

Air is a unique ride at Alton Towers, you sit in your seat and then are lifted into a lying position, this gives you a sensation of flight as you soar around the very edge of alton towers, the close calls to the ground, the quick drops and moments spent staring into the sky give you a rush of excitement without the normal speed/intensity needed from other rides.

This is probably my favourite ride at the park, I could literally ride it all day long. Don't miss this one.

Rita

Rita used to be the queen of speed for a reason. The sensation of speed is fantastic and this rides theme is well worked into thirteen giving a great looking ride as well as a great ride sensation. However to people who have visited Thorpe park the rush you get from Rita is nothing compared to Stealth. Rita is worth a ride if you close by, but its not worth the abnormally long lines that Rita normally generates, give it a go if you close by, but don't kill yourself to ride it.

Th13teen

Thirteen is Alton's newest ride and it gets a lot of flack from members of the Alton Towers fan community for not being as intense as advertised. This is mostly true, its not an intense ride like Nemesis. However I think it is an awesome ride it its own right, Thirteens true apeal for me comes from its incredibly smooth ride, the build quality is excellent and while its drop won't leave you screaming the great ride through the dark forest is a very enjoyable one.

Thirteen also has one of my favourite themed area in the park, don't miss thirteen, go check it out the next time you visit.

Runaway mine train.

A great first ride to start your day, its slow compared to most of the other rides in the park, but the staff make this ride a fun way to start you day, plus before you experience some of the greater rushes around the park its a great sweeping ride through the trees and a fairly exciting start to the day, plus its lines are normally short, and on slow days the staff will normally give you an extra go round. Go check it out, but if your tall like me, avoid the front row, unless you like your knees in your face.

Choo Choo!

Sonic Spinball.

I like sonic Spinball, but I know a lot of other people don't, this rides cars spin around as you rocket around the track, this gives you an unpredictable and fun ride experience. Its a lot of fun to never know what way your going to end up facing after the next turn. However its theme is pretty bad, it was bad when it was spinball wizzer, and its just as bad now. Plus this ride being the closest roller coaster to the entrance tends to get massive lines. Its worth checking out if you have the time to wait, but if you miss it, its not the end of the world.
