Don't stop reviewing

It's time for Monday Richards mini review spectacular

DS Game - Ghost Trick phantom detective

An unusual offering, but a great game for the DS among a sea of mediocre games.

You play a dead guy, that can't remember anything before he died then a desk lamp teaches you how to use “powers of the dead” to investigate your own death.

Your powers of the dead involve being able to possess inanimate objects, but you can only possess things within a small radiance around you, so to get to anything far away you have to form paths through objects by using “ghost trick” to move around the objects you possess. You can also use your powers of the dead talk with the recently deceased and travel back in time to 4 minutes before there death to prevent their fate.

The game play is unique and fun, using your powers you start to put together the clues that lead to your death, you make contacts and change the fate of people you meet along the way putting together a compelling story bit by bit. The animation in this game is shockingly smooth for a DS game, and the controls fit the game completely.

All in all this game is a diamond in the sea of crap DS games, and well worth you time, Go check it out.

Xbox game - Stubbs the Zombie in rebel without a pulse.

This is an old game, an xbox original not an xbox 360 game, but despite this its a lot of fun and one I highly recommend checking out,

The game is set in a utopian city, and you play the recently arisen from the dead Stubbs in a quest for personal vengeance, the main aim however is to mess up as much as possible on the way.

You can bite people turning them into your own personal leagues of the undead, and you have powers at your disposal against the leagues of the living. making this a fun undead romp through the city of punchbowl.

The best thing about this game though, is its sound track, it features awesome versions of classic songs, lollipop, Mr Sandman and Earth angel to name a few. The soundtrack to Stubbs has become a permanent addition to my itunes library.

This game is available on the Xbox live store as an Xbox original game and I highly recommend picking It up.

Film - Sucker Punch

I was excited for this film after I saw its trailer, but it turned out to be a case of awesome trailer, mediocre film. I'm not saying the whole film was bad, but its good points sure as hell don't outweigh its bad.

The actions sequences would have been great if it where not for the total overuse of slow motion the CGI is great, if a little over the top, and the enemy are interesting and inventive. That's all the film has going for it however. The acting is stale and in some cases totally crappy. The story line was mostly irrelevant and I could probably sum it up for you in a sentence (I won't for spoilers sake) and while the action sequences where pretty cool, the short skirts and fishnets where nothing but the worse kind of fan service.

I'd say to avoid this film.

Xbox live arcade game - Raskulls

This is a fun little offering from the xbox live arcade, in it you play a series of surprisingly cute skeletions questing to strop a bunch of evil rats from stealing some shiny stones.

The game play is great and unlike anything else I have played, its a mix between a platformer and a puzzle game, you use a magic wand to zap away multicolour blocks, matching like coloured blocked allows you to zap them all away together.

This mechanic is used in a bunch of surprising ways, you might be racing against the clock, or trying to complete the level in as few zaps as possible. However the challenge in this game can surprise you, despite its cute appearance it can be really hard, I am still yet to complete some of the harder challenges.

I highly recommend this game, go check it out.

Sucker Punch was awesome! People need to stop hating on this film. The film had everything a film needs and to top it off it was original and not a remake or in 3D.

I dont think this film needed anything else other than what it has.

I realllllly enjoyed it and so did the mrs :P

Me and Shanice went to see it, neither of us where very impressed with it. I've not read any other reviews of it, so i don't know what other people are saying about it, that's just my opinion.

I like a lot of crap movies, but sucker punch got on my nerves in ways I can't quite understand.

I just acquired Ghost Trick the other day, I'll give it a go when I finish Okamiden (which will be never, as the game NEVER ENDS).
