You don't have AIDS!! Have a biscuit!!!

Tuesday i decided to give blood, so i went to the blood donor suite in town. When i got there i thought i would fill out a form, take a blood test then donate some blood. This of course was wrong, what happened was i arrived, sign the visitor book and offered them my blood, but they said no and told me to register first, so i did. After that they gave me a card with some words and numbers on it. They then told me i would have to wait about two hours to donate or make a appointment for another day. I thought why would i need to wait two hours to give blood, if they had just given me a razor blade and a copy of Will Ferrell's latest movie they would have all the blood they could ever need.

So i made an appointment for today. On arriving i was given a form to fill out and some stuff to read, which i did. then i was told to sit in the waiting area, which i did. I sat for about four minutes before the doctor called me into his little office thing to ask me some question such as:

1. Do you have Aids?

2. Do you have Aids?

3. Do you have Aids?

And many other questions which i already answered on the form that i filled out 5 minutes earlier ( that was right in front of him!!). After talking to the doctor i was sent back to the waiting area for about 30 seconds before a nurse called me back into the small office, took a drop of my blood to make sure i could give blood, then it was time to actually give blood.

As i laid on the bed waiting for them in insert the needle into me i started to get a bit nevrous but after the needle was inserted i felt fine for a while untill the nurse disappeared to tend to another donor, this made me nervous and i started to think, what if the bag explodes and i drown in my own blood. But the bag did'nt explode and the nurse returned to finish up.

I felt fine afterward which was a bit disapointing, i was hoping a it would leave me light headed and save me the price of a night out, but no i felt fine and was sent to the refreshment area for a drink before leaving.

i can only hope that what i did today would teach people an important lession. If you want to give blood, just inject heroin.

(No seriously, give blood.)
