As promised here is a quick review of the games I got to play at the UK games expo.
This will be my last post about the UK games expo.
Also I played a TON of Braggat at the expo, but as I have already reviewed it I won't be talking about it again.
Caveman
This game took a little bit of time to get our heads around, but once we did it was a fun little game. The aim of the game is simple, you either have to bring up a bunch of cave kids or improve your tribe. Both ways offer there own chance of winning, but chance plays too big of a role in winning for my taste.
To win at bringing up the cave kids you have to role a dice to see if they survive, even with the advancements that increase the chance of the survivability I still rolled to find my cave kids dead more often than not.
Then the advancement path, I was actually in position to win this way way early in the game, only then a single random card made it impossible to win this way for the rest of the game. Annoying to say the least.
I give it 3 out of 5 brains.
Go with the flow.
For such a small company I thought this game was very very well put together. Chance also plays a chance in this game but unlike cave man you have enough control to make you think its always your fault when things go wrong and not the games.
You flip tiles to determine the path of water currents, your raft can then “go with the flow” to move around the board to try and collect the treasure on the shipwreck.
I really enjoyed this game and I intend to pick it up in the near future.
Go try it.

Pandemic.
This was another game that takes a little getting used to, but I really enjoyed it when it got going.
In this you and the other players work as a team to try and stop a viral outbreak overtaking the world.
When we played this we won, but only just. Literally the turn we won on was the very last turn before the game was over with the virus winning.
I need to play it again to see how it plays with a different set of character “powers” before I give it a final rating, but I will give it a tentative

Zombie close.
Now for a blog called “zombie outbreak” you would think I would like this game.
But, I hated this game.
This is not a prejudging a game after one time playing it, i played maybe 9 games of this to give it a fair shot.
Its rules are simple, but written so badly as to make the game difficult to understand.
The pieces are badly made and very hard to tell the zombies from the survivors without painting them yourself.
And frankly the game is broken, I have seen someone win this game on their very first turn.
it feels like a rip off of Zombies!!! but it is not nearly as fun to play.
Avoid this game.

Go With The Flow is a very fun game, just a shame about the price really!!
And definitely agree about Zombie Close, too much of a rip off of Zombie. Just a worse version!
I think that is the first 0 brains rating you've done...
