E-BOOK Review...

JANET EVANOVICH

Stephanie Plum Novels

So my shiny new kindle, with its lightweight and slim design, needed some new material to fill up its 3,500 book space ….I’ll stop now, I don’t actually work for Amazon.

I was advised to have a go at Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels. Im so glad I did; it’s an amazing L-O-L read! I had a mini outburst of the giggles on the bus to work recently which resulted in a few stern/concerned looks from the other passengers, oh and a business card for an Asylum. (My ‘uncontrolled laugh’ is a mixture of a squeak, chuckle and a loud snort; not very pleasant)

The first book in the series is called ‘One for the Money’. It’s a story of Stephanie Plum a sassy, brassy Jersey girl who turns, eventually, into a badass bounty hunter, she stumbles a lot along the way though! Her career didn’t start off so well. She was broke, driving around in the adequately named ‘Pussymobile’ after a group of vandals ‘upgraded’ her scrap on wheels with the said word. She needed money fast so she blackmailed her creepy cousin Vinnie into getting her a job as a bounty hunter. I don’t think he would have like it if Steph told his wife about ‘Madam Zaretski and her whips and chains, the boys or the duck’. Yeah, the duck got me as well!

Her blue-collar parents disapprove of her new career path but her Grandma Mazur with her eccentric fashion sense and matching attitude thinks it’s cool. She expressed her liking for Steph’s new job by ‘accidently’ shooting the chicken to smithereens in the middle of their Sunday roast after secretly playing a game of Russian roulette!

There’s also drunks, nudist old men, hide and seek, dust bin diving, a bit of romance, doughnuts, and a million in depth costume changes (each day there is a detailed account of what Steph puts on, Gok Wan wouldn’t approve any of her choices!)

There’s whole array of character to get to know and love/loathe:

Joe Morelli - School heart throb turned killer cop, but is he guilty?

Eddie Gazarra - A straight talking Trenton cop who is Steph’s best friend from way back.

Lula & Jackie – The Stark Street prostitutes with huge personalities…and assets to match.

Benito Ramirez - ‘Mountain of muscle’ boxing champ who gets his kicks out of attacking women.

There is a collection of 15 books I think (no doubt Janet Evanovich will pop out a new book by the time I’ve finished this!)

"I would definitely recommend it. Great book, so gripping it’s hard to put down.Steph is the girl we all wish we could be.

I LOVE IT!"
