Busted Kneecaps, Scarred Faces and Dragon Tattoos

I've not been outside for over a week- and no, that's not because of playing Minecraft, or because of playing Skyrim (I don't even own Skyrim, to be fair)- it's because Saturday before last I dislocated my kneecap while playing football. Couple that with some snow and I've become a partial invalid and a detainee in my own house.

It's not all bad though...

During this time, I've finally watched Scarface! I bought it from ASDA for maybe three pounds about two years ago, and only removed it from it's shrink-wrapping this past Sunday. Apparently I'm of a minority who
have not seen this film, and I thought I'd put my leg up and watch it.

Overall I thought it was pretty awesome. I had to chuckle though- the Cuban accents reminded me of WWF's Razor Ramon. After watching Scarface I think it's pretty obvious that Razor was based on him, right down to referring to himself as "The Bad Guy". To some this may seem like stating the blindingly obvious, of course.

I also watched The Social Network again, since I enjoyed it last time and wanted to see if I missed any of the details amidst the three lawsuits that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg found himself embroiled in. Oh yeah, and because I couldn't get enough of the relentless, soul-destroying diatribe dished out by Jesse Eisenberg and inflicted upon his enemies.

I would love to know if he really is as big a tool in real life as he was in the film; given he was sued thrice for antics, I suppose he could be.

To add to my all-consuming DVD collection, I have purchased Four Lions, too. A satire on terrorism? Sounds fantastic.

I played a lot of Minecraft this weekend too- well, perhaps not as much as some, but I do other stuff, y'know. I've been enjoying the creations of my buddy Jacob (Richard's brother, no less), along with Richard and Matt on his server yet again.

Any of you readers out there? Well after going to see the 2011 film adaptation on Boxing Day, I picked up Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. As traumatised by the somewhat graphic depictions of sexual abuse and cat mutilation as I was, I found it an intriguing film, and thought it must make good reading (and is equally as traumatising by the way).

I have a confession to make- it was my full intention to review the novel in my post today, but I am still forty or so pages away from the end, so I shall bring you my written review next week instead (provided I get to the end by then, of course).
