Eden Lake.
A young couples weekend getaway to a quiet lake in the woods is interrupted by a gang of hoodlums. a dispute over loud music soon turns to violence. after a confrontation our leading man (Micheal Fassbender) is brutally tortured and close to death while his girlfriend (don't know her name) is alone in the woods desperate to find help while being hunted by a gang desperate to silence any witnesses.
It's your basic The Hills Have Eyes clone minus the cannibals and mutants. Better then expected but still predictable. not very scary but i liked the whole nightmare you can't wake up from vibe it was trying to get across.
Harry Brown
Micheal Caine plays Harry brown a retired and elderly ex royal marine living alone on a run down city estate plagued by violent street gangs. after the gang causes the death of his daughter and best friend Harry can no longer stand aside and let thugs run rampant. excellently preformed and written just an all round good film.
Quills
Based on the life of famous erotic author Marquis De Sade. during his time in a insane asylum. He secretly continues to publish the controversial stories for which he was imprisoned with the help of Madeline a laundry girl at the asylum. his publications come to the attention of doctor Royer Collard who seeks to put a stop to De Sade's work and open ways of thinking. After Marquis Quills and ink are taken from him he goes goes to increasingly extremer means of making his message heard.
its a surprisingly good watch. i especially like Marquis De Sade decent into madness and his frustration at not being able to write and the resident priests attempts to control his carnal urges towards Madeline. excellent performance by Geoffrey Rush.
