Pokémon, The banned episodes.

Recently, thanks to my younger brother I have began re-watching the original Pokémon animated series, and I noticed that a few episodes are missing, so in this post, I’m going to talk about the some of the Lost Pokémon episodes.

Beauty and the Beach

What episode is it?

Episode 18 of the first season.

What's it about?

All The female characters all enter a beauty contestant as always Team Rocket crash the contest and also enter.

Why was it banned?

James (the male member of team rocket) enters the contest by using a set of inflatable breasts and taunts Misty with them by saying, "Maybe when you're older, you'll have a chest like this!".

(note, this episode was later released with all of James in a bikini removed)

The Legend of Dratini

What episode is it?

Episode 35 of the first season.

What's it about?

Ash and his friends enter the safari zone in order to catch new Pokémon, and investigate the legend of a Dratini living in the safari zone. In this episode Ash also happens to catch 30 Tauros.

Why was it banned.

A character in this episode, the park ranger of the safari zone repeatedly waves a gun around, Pointing it directly in children’s faces.

Dennō Senshi Porygon
(Electric Soldier Porygon )

What episode is it?

Episode 38 of the first season.

What's it about?

Ash and gang enter a digital world with porygon to stop the evil team rocket from stealing pokemon while being transferred digitally.

Why was it banned?

This is probably the most famous of the banned episodes. When it originally aired in Japan, one scene in which Pikachu stops missiles with its Thunderbolt attack, resulted in a huge explosion that flashed red and blue lights. This caused over 600 children get taken to hospital by ambulance complaining of blurred vision, headaches, dizziness, nausea, seizures, blindness, convulsions and loss of consciousness. Refered to as “Pokémon Shock” in Japanese newspapers this very nearly caused the end of the Pokémon, and it did go off air for a while, before returning.

NOTICE, THIS IS THE BANNED PART OF THE EPISODE IN QUESTION, I NOR ANY MEMBER OF ZOMBIE OUTBREAK OF RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EFFECTS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT SUFFER AFTER WATCHING IT, WATCH AT YOUR OWN PERIL
