For those who don't know Download is one of the UK's biggest heavy metal / rock festivals here are some of the highlight form the awesome weekend I had there.
Steel Panther
A regular motley crew of.....Motley Crue. everything you loved about Glam with at a lot more penis jokes thrown in. Hilarious to see live made even better with a surprise visit for Slipknots Corey Taylor.
Anthrax
Really good to finally see these guys live really good band, really energetic preformace from Joey (the lead singer) jumping off stage to party with the fans. Also security mistook him for a spectator and tried to tackle him which was pretty funny.
Black Label Society
Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde at his finest with awesome rifts and solos so long civilisations have risen and fallen in-between another band I've been waiting ages to see.
Tenacious D
Love these guys Just as good live as you'd expect playing all of the classic songs with some from there new album.
Metallica
One of this years head-liners the legendary Metallica as awesome as every. celebrating 30 years of their self titled album known to most as "The Black Album" they played the whole album ( in reverse order) along with all their usual classic songs. this was a really good show a lot better then I was expected as a thought after all this time would just phone it in, but i was wrong and it was one of the best rock shows I have seen.
Black Sabbath
One of the original heavy metal bands and one of my favourites finally returns. even in his their old age they still know what their doing. It was brilliant to finally see ( most of) the original line up back on stage together playing all of their favourites.
