You've never seen The Lord of the Rings before?!

Yes, it's true. I have never watched The Lord of the Rings. Well, I say that. I have watched snippets at school and at my nan's - I may have watched the first one once the whole way through, but I'm not so sure...

So at request of my boyfriend, I watched..

Finally. Well, I've actually only watched Fellowship of the Ring and  The Two Towers. I've yet to watch the third instalment (and i'll watch that next weekend hopefully!!).

So, I figured I'd just let you all know my views on it (since I'm trying to avoid writing about books here every week!). Then you can let me know yours?

Fellowship of the Ring:
I don't know... Gandalf was supposed to scare Bilbo at the start and I suppose the audience too, and I wasn't :/ I was very let down with Gandalf A LOT in this movie, but I suppose it can't be helped. Mostly because he just wasn't as... epic as every one made him out to be!
Frodo was brilliant, for the most part... though I'm confused as to why he was 'hurt' when he was wearing chainmail? I mean, he wasn't stabbed... so why did he act like it? Or is there something I'm just not getting?
I'm a huge fan of Sam, I love him, I want a friend like him! He's brilliant throughout the movie (and the next one!).
The Fellowship it's self were hillarious especially Legolas (aka Legoman) and Grimli (aka dwarfy 'cause I kept forgetting his name). I loved their love hate relationship (and I loved them even more in Two Towers!).

If I had to rate Fellowship of the Ring like I rated my books, it would get 4/5. Slightly disappointing in places, but I will happily re-watch this movie! (Over... and over again!)

The Two Towers:

First thing I have to mention is the epic battle scene at the end! Both Andy and I were commenting madly about it, about how some parts failed but mostly about how we loved it!
Also, Legolas and Grimli's awesome 'who can kill the most people' thing during the battle had both of us laughing a lot (it was brilliant!).
Generally really pleased with this movie, though frustrated with the lack of Merry and Pipin! Always hanging out with the trees...
Golem still terrifies me, just thought I'd throw that in there too!

4/5 again!

Really looking forward to Return of the Kings - what're your views on The Lord of the Rings?
