Music to my ears.

Music is a funny thing, It has the ability to alter the way you look at things, or to open a can of whoop ass on your emotions. My own relationship with music is a very tentative arrangement, Give me an old classic my head gets a bopping, my body gets a rocking. But pretty much any new song falls completely flat when I hear it, unless its a parody.

I'm not sure what it is about me, I would rather kill than listen to the newest catchy jam about dancing, but change the lyrics slightly, make it about something funny and I'll listen to it on repeat for 3 days straight.

Maybe all this stared with earlier than normal introduction to the Monty python records, or the young me being obsessed with weird al, or maybe I'm just an uncultured swine, I'm not sure.

Lets take a quick look at my Itunes top played shall we? My top five songs are as follows;

1. Final fantasy - Duane and Brando.

2. Rock 'n' roll nerd - Tim Minchin

3. What would Brain Boitano do? -DVDA

4. Fraggle rock - Allster

5. Hot girl in the comic shop - Tripod

Not one "real" song in the lot, all comedy songs with the possible exception of Fraggle rock, a punk rock cover of a childrens TV show theme, you have to go all the way down to number 11 until you find a normal song (Hey julie - fountains of wayne) of the entire top 25 only 6 are normal songs.

I love the collage humour song Parodys, adore Tim Minchin and Tripod and worship Garfunkel and Oaks, You can keep the UK top 20, I'll take my 20 most played any day.

I know by now your probably wondering what the point of all this is, I'm just trying to give you a look into my tastes, Mainly so in future posts If i talk about music I like, you will know to maybe take it with a pinch of salt.
