Obligatory Post Concerning Twitter.

First of all, I couldn't come up with anything particularly creative to title this blog post (it was going to be called "Official Blog Post #1 until about thirty seconds ago). I do, however, feel it is aptly named.

Secondly, thank you Richard for your most recent post- now have to try and come up with something decent to follow it! I could attempt to compose something with genuine subject matter such as yours, but to be honest, I'm awfully uninspired this evening- not to mention potentially stoned, after sharing my commute home on the bus this evening with some ignoramus smoking a joint (and if you were following me on Twitter, you'd know that! *plug plug*).

Speaking of Twitter, a news story which has caught my attention today regards Deputy Speaker Lindsay Hoyle speaking out against MPs using Twitter in the House of Commons. I'm surprised that they have to even be told not to use it- you mean to tell me that I pay tax for these guys to not only waste it and extort me with all sorts of financial scandal, but to also sit there tweeting?

It wouldn't take me long to get sacked for giving much time at all to tweeting where I work- and I spend my entire day at a desk in front of a computer as an IT technician! And believe me, with the kind of tedium that can involve, it's almost like my job is begging me to do it. "While you're waiting on hold to BT at 9:30am yet again, why not take some time out to tweet about it!" Mind you, it's not like I've not done that one- sometime last week I tweeted that I had been on hold for so long, I couldn't remember why I was on hold.

I'm not sure I've ever understand how stuff trends on there, either. It's like word vomit, but all over a webpage, where no one has bothered to grab a bucket of water mixed with a spot of bleach in order to wash it off.

If it weren't for Twitter I wouldn't have my post for Friday sorted. Fact. But yeah, seriously, these people have to be told? What are they tweeting about? 'Cameron's up again rabbiting on and looking smug. LOL'. Please.

Wonder what they tweet about. i propose we search twitter and find them on there. Then follow them and complain every time there on there during the day by commenting 'shouldn’t you be working.' and create an account on their called your boss so it scares them.
