Slender - the free, indy horror game that will make you cack your pants

Ever heard of Slender? If not, you may wish you hadn't. The likelihood is that your curiosity will pique to the extent that you end up downloading and playing it, and then submitting to the subsequently inexplicable, pants-wetting terror that follows.

Slender is a free to play PC and Mac game which features a simple concept- you play as a person wandering around in a dark, tree-filled woods, viewing everything that unfolds through the eye of a camera and with only a torch and the sound of your own unsettled breath for company. The objective is simple: to collect eight hand-written notes stuck to the surrounding trees, walls and other fixtures. The catch? You are being closely stalked The Slender Man.

The Slender Man- an urban legend created on the internet- is an eerily tall, eerily slender humanoid creature in black suit with a white, expressionless face. He does not appear to be armed or otherwise harmful, nor does he appear to chase you, but he is always following you. He gets closer all the time- as the rise in tension is accompanied by a hissing noise which gets progressively louder and static obscuring your view- and he will appear more often the longer you play and the closer you get to finishing the game. If he catches you... well, you're done for.

Needless to say every time I play it I turn into a big girl, capture by the fear that I might catch a glimpse of the slender offender.

Don't believe that it'll get to you, too? Give it a try- it's free to download at www.slendergame.com.

I'm actually considering doing my own playthrough with facecam! I'll get you to link it on the fan page when I get to it!

I was thinking of doing that also, but couldn't figure out how to film it in time. But yeah good idea!
